Royal Ontario Museum

With more than six million objects in its collection, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is a treasure trove in downtown Toronto — a place where curious minds may explore world culture and natural history. The largest such museum in Canada, the Royal Ontario Museum and its galleries showcase everything from Egyptian mummies to Chinese temple art to early Canadiana. Displays at the Royal Ontario Museum also include such wonders as dinosaur skeletons, a bat cave and several interactive galleries. One of the most remarkable features of the Royal Ontario Museum is its Michael Lee-Chin Crystal. Designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, the building was constructed as part of a major renovation and expansion at the Royal Ontario Museum during the early years of the 21st century. The Michael Lee-Chin Crystal is home to a chic restaurant and lounge, one of several eateries at the Royal Ontario Museum. Visitors to the Royal Ontario Museum may also enjoy a variety of lectures, film screenings, concerts, children’s activities, day trips and Toronto walking tours.

The Royal Ontario Museum first opened to the pubic in 1914. Nearly a century later, the Royal Ontario Museum hosts anywhere from 750,000 to more than a million visitors annually.
