Canada’s premier symphony, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra, is a world-class orchestra founded in 1922. Through the years, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (or TSO) has hosted such renowned artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Kathleen Battle, Jessye Norman, Evgeny Kissin and thespian Christopher Plummer. Toronto Symphony Orchestra concerts attract more than 400,000 music-lovers annually, with another five million listeners tuning in to Toronto Symphony Orchestra performances broadcast over CBC Radio. Members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra have also taken their music on international tours to Vienna, New York City, Japan, Australia and other locations. Music director for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra is Peter Oundjian.

Most Toronto Symphony Orchestra performances are held at the critically acclaimed Roy Thomson Hall, a concert hall in downtown Toronto’s Entertainment District. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra also schedules several performances each year at the George Weston Recital Hall, located at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.
